AMiBA Engineering Telecon Minutes

Action items:

1.      Derek/               We agreed to go ahead with the non-biased correlator of Rapadas, and leave the door open to Marki for the second source in parallel. Derek will generate a tight specification in one page and circulate to Warwick, C.T. and Jeff to look ASAP. We will place the order directly to Rapadas through Taipei.

2.      Bob/                  As for cost comparison and prediction for 7 - 13 - 19 element, Bob had some discussions with PaulH and PaulS, he will come up with an analysis shortly.

3.      Bob/Derek/Mingtang           There were some discussions on the cabling layout, location of electrical boxes, they are moving on positive direction and resolution. They will keep on working it to pin down more details and summarize all together into the bidding document for platform.

4.      Mike/               As for the beam pattern calculation on 60cm dish, Mike will follow up to find out the price to do it.

5.      Bob/Mingtang               ASIAA computer committee has assigned Frank Chen, the system manager to help AMiBA to setup the network system on Mauna Loa. Anything related to computer network should discuss with Frank together. Bob and Mingtang will follow up to bring this issue to the science telecon to clarify the roll and the responsibility of computing next work of AMiBA.

6.      C.J. Ma/K.Y. Lin/ Mingtang/Bob/Mike        Close talk coupling test on the prototype 30cm dishes will be made in the following week at lab. We should also consider how to measure the beam pattern with the prototype mount on site and sort out a plan to do it and how to do it.

7.      Bob/Derec/Mike/C.T Bob and Derek will discuss more details on the layout of correlator offline. Mike and C.T. will discuss offline as well to sort out how far the edge of the correlator can we go?

8.      Bob/Huei/PaulH/            Bob will set up a telecon to discuss the collaboration issue with JPL in the next week.

9.      Huei/              Huei will ask TRW to give us a quote of the on wafer test for InP HEMT LNA.
