Summary

Receiver:

1.      Mingtang updated that the receiver without equalizer usually got 4 to 6 GHz band-width, and with equalizer it got 10 to 12 GHz band-width but, 10dB power loss from line. C.T. also made a double check on correlator, he got similar effect from equalizer.

2.      Warwick thought there is still a little work left to be done on the equalizer since its input match is terrible. Mingtang said that Prof.Chu is working on the second iteration for equalizer trying to improve its loss, if it is not works, then we will use the attenuator path. Mingtang and C.T. will keep on working out the variation of gain slop of receiver in a week or two.

3.      Derek found out a commercial equalizer source on web site, it has 2 to 18 GHz band-width, and its price is $500 ~$ 550 each for quantity 6, and we can have different slop from 5 dB up to 30 dB, and 6 to 10 weeks for delivery. Derek has forwarded this data to Mingtang and Warwick to look at.

4.      As for high frequency phase switch measurement, Warwick will modify the software ASAP.

5.      C.T. will measure the system to noise ratio at 800Hz. to see the difference,  Mingtang will do the long time monitoring on the receiver output next week in parallel, and then test the stability of the whole system later on.

LO/IF:

As for the prototype, Prof. Chu has completed the fabrication work and handle over to Mingtang.

Correlator:

1.      J. Rapadas has completed the biased mixer, he sent one to Jeff to take look at. Jeff will test it ASAP.

2.      Since the current output arrangement caused a lot of trouble to connect , Derek and Warwick both agreed to sort out a solution for the fabrication version.

3.      Dereck is preparing the paper work to order 43 Milteq amplifiers and power dividers.

4.      C.T. has put battery and Marki mixer together, he will test it in a day or two.

5.      Derek and Bob will sort out the cable length in a week or so.

MMIC:

As for purchasing 28 LNA from JPL, RCUH currently is reviewing the contract document.

60cm dish

Philippe has come up with an initial analysis on the Miliflect dish and circulate around by e-mail today, he will finish it and put it together a summary by the end of this week.

Platform:

Bob had a discussion with receiver group about the interface with receiver.

Site:

As for the motor to drive prototype mount, we have 3 phases, 208 V power on site. Mike will figure out the motor specification with vendor.

Action items:

1.      Bob/ Philippe/              As for the platform, Bob will give a call to Vertex to speed up its quotation process. Bob will talk to Philippe and Paul Shaw to sort out how to deal with the Chung-shang Institute to work out a quote.

2.      Bob/ Mingtang/              The electronic stuff enclosure is ready to ship to Hilo, Mingtang will take care of it right away. Bob will sort out a detail installation plan on site for prototype ASAP.

3.      All/Mingtang                   Aug. 1 is out target date to ship the prototype to Hilo, according SMA experience, it may need 10 day to get all stuff in our hand. To ensure to have a smooth customs clearance process, we got to be mush detail on the shipping list for what the contents are.

Next telecon:         Thursday, July 11, 8:30AM Taipei time ,(10:30AM Sydney time, 2:30PM Hilo, July 10, 10:30PM EST)
