Summary

Far field range measurement:

1.      The mechanical setup for FFM at lab is ongoing, C.J. and K.Y. are working on that.

2.      As for calibrating prototype on site, C.J. and K.Y. plan to use a w-band transmitter put at far filed range as a calibration source. They came up with a proposal for discussion,in which including design schematics, component list with price and mechanical setup.

We need to think about  this proposal and respond with opinion in the next couple of days by email.

Mount:

We received the modified technical and commercial document of hexapod mount from Vertex this morning.

Bob and Paul  will read and discuss it offline.

Correlator:

1.      The new quote from J. Rapadas for the correlator module is @$1,035 each, it's cheaper than the earlier quote $2,400, Derek said.

2.      Warwick has been doing some tests on the Marki biased mixer, he found the Marki mixer has a considerably better noise performance, but its responsivity is quite lower than rapadas' one. He asked Derek to talk to Marki and orther vender to see if they can increase the responsivity of mixers.

3.      C.T. simulated a 4-section power divider on alumina substrate with center frequency at 10GHz. The first result is quite good, and he will simulate it in planar EM simulation to get more realistic results.

4.      We ordered 5 low pass filters for prototype.

5.      More details on correlator & IF distribution , please click the web link below to read.

60cm Dish:

1.      Bob send out the update specs to Miliflect for quote this week.

2.      Ted is still working on the drawing, he will finish it in a day or two.

Platform:

Bob is trying to simplify the design of the structure and summarize a new specification. To reduce the holes and to modulize the structure for fabrication are the approaches to reduce cost.

Work plans 2002:

We got more inputs in this week, please click the web link below to read the details.

As for receiver, LO and IF, Mingtang has set up a meeting on April 15 to review the status of prototype and work plan 2002.

Action items:

1.      Derek/         Dereck will talk to Marki Microwave to see if they can provide a single biased mixer with higher responsivity.

2.      Warwick/    Warwick think the existing Rapadas correlators we have could be used for prototype and now he is putting them all together. Warwick will finish the prototype by end April and bring it to Taipei for whole system integration and testing in early May.

3.      Philippe/     Philippe will analysis the ability of the structure of Miliflect dish in two weeks from now.

4.      Ted/            Ted will modify the drawing of 60cm dish in a day or two.

5.      Bob/           Bob is working on the platform concept layout, he will come up with a quite line by end of this week for Ted and Philippe to follow up on the drawing preparation and FEA study.

6.      Bob/           We need to have a optical telescope for prototype test on site, Bob will follow up to get the quote after he get back to Tucson next week.

Next meeting: Thursday, April 11, 8:30AM Taipei time.
