Summary

MMIC:

1.      Huei and his students will finish the InP HEMT chip design and sent directly to TRW and copy to Bob in a few days.

2.      We accepted Todd Gaier's offer, JPL provides 28 LNA for ABiMA in this summer.

3.      Bob sent a email to Todd to confirm our intention and ask for a formal quote.

4.      Todd and AT are not able to provide us the DC bias circuit for telescope, and we need to work on it by yourself.

60cm dish:

There are some discussions on the shape of reflectors and its effect to the edge illumination between Bob and Ravi. Ravi think we should have a quantitative comparison of the sensitivity of the present 30 cm dishes or the 60cm dishes.

30cm dish:

In the last few days, the 30cm dish has been corrected the accuracy of focus in Tucson. And it will be packed and shipped to Taipei in a day or two. Bob and Mngtang will correct the alignment of the first unit some time next week in Taipei.

Far field range measurement:

C.J. Ma will start the FFR measurement once he got the micro-wave component from Jeff, he hopes to get it by next Monday. In the mean time, he is setting up the mounting for measurement.

Platform:

Philippe is still working on the FEA analysis, Bob hopes he could work out something and show us sometime next week in Taipei. The specification has to be completed ASAP, so that we could go ahead to request for quote.

Correlator:

1.      Warwick, Derek, C.T. and Paul had a phone meeting on this Tuesday to go over the abbreviated specs as well as the physical layout concept drawings for correlator, which were generated by Derek. Derek has sent out the specs to Jeff Rapadas and Microwave for inquiring the quote for the second version of prototype. He will send out the same inquiry to some other venders.

2.      Marki will send biased mixer to Derek, and Derek will forward it to Warwick for noise measurement.

3.      According the latest test result on the Rapadas' module, Warwick think it gives us some hope of being able to use the Rapadas lag correlators in the prototype, as long as we drive them quite hard - at t least -10dBm and operate at small % correlations.

4.      Derek has prepared a action item list # 2 for analog correlator & IF distribution, he will set up a separate meeting to go over the details with the C.T. and Warwick shortly.

Site:

We are in the process to put the purchase order for internet in place, and will be no problem to get the power we need on site.

OMT:

John Payne is still working on the quote.

Action items:

1.      Bob/       Bob will follow up to contact Todd Gaier to get the quote for 28 LNA of JPL.

2.      Bob/Mingtang      Bob and Mngtang will discuss further next week to find somebody to work on the DC bias circuit.

3.      Mal/       As for the shape of reflector issue, Mike will follow up to figure out who will work on a quantitative comparison of the sensitivity of the present 30 cm dishes or the 60cm dishes.

4.      C.J. Ma/      As for the Far field measurement on the 30cm dishes, C.J. will arrange a meeting for Bob ,Mingtang in the next couple weeks to show what he did.

5.      Mingtang/     Mingtang will arrange a meeting for Bob, Philippe with the local firm to discuss the specification of dish and platform on next Friday.

6.      Bob/           Bob will update all specification and drawings for the 60cm dish, and Ted will help to modify all the drawings next week.

7.      Bob/         As for the OMT, Bob will talk to John Payne to find out the prices for 6 units and for 12 units.

8.      Warwick/Derek/C.T./         action item list # 2 for analog correlator & IF distribution, see attachment.

Next meeting:   Thursday, March 28, 8:30AM Taipei time.
