Summary

Correlator:
One unit of the 16 lag correlator has been completed and tested at Meridian, and its test result looks very promising. It should be OK for the prototype, the big question is how much can the design be shrunk in size. The correlator has a few flaws we should work out on the next iteration.

MMIC:
The InP HEMT foundry run contract and PO to TRW were signed and issued by RCUH and fedex to TRW. But the export compliance office asked us to apply for a TAA (Technical Assistance Agreement) that includes everyone (non U.S.) who will come in contact with the MMICs,with the focus being the AMiBA program. There appears to be testing, packaging, design review, and integration tasks all supporting AMiBA, some utilizing foreign nationals.

Prototype Mount :
Mike and Philippe are still working on the design for octagon mount, and meanwhile West is preparing the engineering drawings as well.

LO/IF:
The mechanical design work on the module for LO and IF are nearly finish, and start doing the machining work. Eugene and West will figure out what kind of interconnecting cable should be used between that module and receiver..

30cm Dishes:
Bob got a new quote from CMA for producing 5 more units. Its unit price is higher than the first two unit. Bob will follow up to check the price with CMA.

Action items

  1. Jeff/   Jeff will follow up to send the Meridian lag correlator correlator to Warwick ASAP, Warwick will test it and see whether we should go ahead to purchase four more units or not.
