Philippe will finish the platform design this week,he will discuss the details with Mike offline tomorrow.
Platform/mount/dish:
Philippe will take over those work from Bob, worry about the platform, mount and dishes,
since he has time to look after them. But we need to resolve at science meeting for what really is the optimal mount we want.
Receiver:
We got all major cold components here except wave guides. We hope to get all components ready and start complete set up by next week. As to the front transition, Mingtang will check its delivery date with Mal.
Site:
The White Mountain is one of possible site if Mauna Loa fall through. Bob
is still negotiating with Russ Schnell/MLO, he hopes figure out site location,
terms & conditions with MLO, and get some senses on the cost in a week
or two.He thinks we probably need one month to get the agreement in place,
and another month to get all practical concerns through. We will review the
progress next week.
MMIC:
No response from TRW about export compliance, Bob will keep in touch with Stracy to track down the status.
And meanwhile, Bob will talk to Stracy to clear up some points in the agreement, eg, dicing, on wafer test
& add names in the proprietary list. And ask Stracy to send us the model asap, so that Huei could stat designing.
Dishes:
CMA is working on the price for 60cm dish.
IF/LO:
Two of Prof.Chu's students, Eugene and Mingtang are working on the Layout arrangement
and module packaging, and will be finish very soon.
OMT/Photonic
LO:
Bob suggests to let NRAO to do all machining, packaging and testing work for OMT, and supply us all
OMT we need with reasonable fee. Bob will discuss this further with John to figure out the details.
