Summary

MMIC:

1. After discussion with Fred and Huei about the draft letter to TRW,Bob will do some minor change on that draft and sent out shortly.
2. Regarding the LNA blocks, we got quotes of Wise Wave and J & E from Huei and Jeff. Huei hopes to get more quotes with Todd Gaier's help.

Site preparation/ Lab/office

Bob talked with Russ Schnell this week. his boss now doesn't have any objections to our project on the mount and pass the decision back to Russ (MLO local head). Bob thinks we are moving forward. He will go up to the ML Mt. and look at the existing building and the possible sites. As for the control building, lab, foundation, access road, electrical power required for our site, Bob will talk to John Bames in more detail this week.

Prototype mount :

Mike, Phillip and Paul had a phone meeting last Friday discussing on the design criteria, interface with antennas, and to clarify the information Phillipe needs for mount design, such as the weight and dimensions of dewars. Phillipe will calculate the strength of the plate with big holes, and to figure out a how to reinforce the structure. Our aim is to finish the design by end Oct, and production finished by end Dec.

As to the specifications for the polarization experiment, Mike & Ravi are still working on that.

Correlator:

1. read out: chips: Warwick has raised a statistics of the data from the read out chip to Tzi-Da. to discuss. Tzi-Da thinks the excess of points +16 counts will not impact on the statistics, Warwick will follow up and read Tzi-Da's comment.
2. 16 elements lag correlator: Jeff expressed they complete the mixer section, design is progressing and on schedule.

Receiver:

Mingtang mentioned there are a little bit delay on the parts machining, he will follow up to improve the situation with vendor. Two OMT just arrived from NRAO, we will test and package them accordingly. The Chung-Shang Institute is still working on the machining of OMT, and hope to get it done in another month.

LO/IF:

Mingtang, Leo and Eugene had a offline meeting to review the status of LO and IF work packages last week. Mingtang has listed out a action items for review and follow up. This will help to clear up the interface between different work packages, and integrating all efforts on the right track. ( relative action items see attachment)

Time schedule:

Huei suggests to review the status of every work packages in every two weeks in order to keep the time schedule updated.Fred says he will go over the per chart with Paul shortly and get back the update to everyone.

Action items:

1. Mike will look into the minimum acceptable band width of internet we need at site.
2. Warwick will help to get Russel's comments on the mixer block of Wise-Wave.
3. Bob will modify the draft letter to TRW, and sent it out ASAP.
4. As for specifying the mount, Mingtang will figure out the weight and dimension of dewars, IF and Lo.
5. Fred and Paul will go over the per chart for prototype shortly.
6. Mingtang and Mal will discuss the lab set up issue by offline this afternoon.
7.Mike, Philippe, Fred, Bob and Paul will have a offline meeting to discuss the prototype mount on this Friday.

Action items for IF/Lo prepared by mingtang

For LO,
1.The 100 MHz reference source: Initially we use the lab synthesizer. What will be used on site is unknown to me. Need to be decided and purchased.
2. We may start the lab test with 14 GHz: Please check on the PLL of the DRO. We need to know whether it is really working or not.
3. For power devider right aft DRO, use 3db coupler initially. Please follow up on the purchase of the power divider to be used, (delivery date that sort of things).
4. Tranmission cables aft devider:Follow up on the delivery date.
5. Electrical power requirement: For 100MHz ref, DRO, phase modulator, and 42 GHz power amp,we still have no idea on what the configuration will be. Find that out and come up with a design.
6.Please collect all the parst in RM 713.
7.For 21 GHz chain, please follow up on the order of the DRO, and multiplier. Also follow up on the quoting of the divider.

For IF,
8.Electrical requirement of RF amplifier, sub-harm mixer, and IF amplifier.
9. Please follow up on the order of transmission cable and attenuator.
