  1. Huei mentioned that Charles Lawrence has sent an email to Tom Prince - the chief scientist of JPL, explaining the background of AMiBA, our interest in collaboration with JPL on LNA design and fabrication, and the different opinion of NASA on this issue. Charles requested Tom for help, and now he is waiting for Tom's response. Huei will follow up and keep in touch with Lawrence as well.
  2. Huei mentions we need to discuss with TRW ASAP about the re-export issue and tell them we want to use Sandy Weinreb's design on the InP wafer run which under license by TRW. Bob will summarize all of the issues on hold and email it to Fred for reminder.
  3. Regarding the InP HEMT design, Huei's student sent back the modify layout to Russell. Mal confirms everything on the way, and currently they are working on the mask in cooperate with the modify layout, and hope send it out to TRW by the end of this week. Mal also expects to get all chips back by the end of this year.
  4. We already sent out the purchase order of five blocks of sub-harmonic mixer to Wise Wave this Monday.Wise Wave confirmed to ship them in the first week of August. In the mean time Todd promised to send the probe to Wise Wave, Huei will follow up to ensure Wise Wave got that probe from Todd. Mal confirms they got 8 useful chips of SHM in their hands, and they will use the wire bind for packaging. All testing after packaging will be carried on at AT, everybody agreed. Mal will check whether the testing bench at AT is available to work in the range up to 42 GHz.
  5. Regarding the LNA chip's design, packaging and testing at UMass Group, Jeff will follow up and call Neil to check their progress, and back to us by next week.

Lag Correlator Hybrid
  1. Jeff mentioned he has generated a AutoCAD design for the housing which intend to use for the prototype units, and has sent it to Warwick today as well. In the mean while, he and his student are continuously testing the units populated with 3 mixers, and it looks pretty good. His plan is to complete the 17 elements by next Monday; two pieces fully populated correlators, one will come current email and the other will go to CSI on road. If every thing goes well, there will have two units testing whine a week, and then need five to six weeks for the fabrication of substrates. So they need two months to fabricate the elements and another month to test them, and roughly three months before will set up the design for production. And mean while they use the elements they have to make all we need for the prototype, and Jeff believes they can get 6 at least, and he will send one of them to AT in the next week.
  2. Warwick get all testing fixture ready for the CMO chips designed by Ray, he hope start testing by next week.
  3. Regarding the purchasing issue for the prototype components, Warwick will generate a BOM and send it to everybody to look. Bob and Paul suggest purchase those components directly by Warwick.

IF/LO
  1. Eugene just got the laser head mount to integrate the New Focus laser with optical fiber alignment set. He will start doing the measurement this week.
  2. Eugene will use the free running laser pair to check the frequency response of the photo mixer.
  3. Regarding the piezo electrical bias circuits, he just got a support from the Institute of Atomic Molecule Science of AS. They have an electronic shop, developing very high voltage bias circuits. Eugene got a detail schematic from them to produce the prototype bias circuits for piezo electrical crystal, and this will be used for phase modulator. Eugene tries to fabricate the circuits by summer student. This circuit is below 1KHz &100V.
