  1. Huei guesses TRW may ask us to provide a written permission from Sandy to allow us to put his design on our mask, and he thinks we should avoid this happen. Huei has set up a phone meeting with JPL in tomorrow, Huei, Fred and Bob will discuss this further with Todd Gaier and Charles Laurence, and we need to figure out how to proceed. Fred says that the wafer run we order through TRW has originally intended, but may not need to go. Certainly the HBT run we probably we don't need to go through that. So certainly our contract agreement draft with TRW need to be changed in some form.In tomorrow meeting we need to figure out how to work with JPL group and how to proceed.
  2. Mal says that they don't have enough space to put Sandy's design on the mask of wafer run in July, but he will reserve a space for Huei's design. The circuit area of Huei's design is 2.2 x 1.5 square mm. AT will finalize the last design of chip in June and then send to TRW.Huei will send his design to Mal this afternoon.
  3. Jeff got a quote from J&E procession concerning the cost of blocks on the MMIC amplifier for the UMass; it is about $170USD each for gold plated box.He will forward that quote to Paul. Jeff will contact Neil to find out what material they used and how they mount the chips, he will send the J & E address to Mal as well.
  4. Mal says that the completion date for testing the GaAs mixer chips of Huei will be end of June.
  5. Mal says that AT/TRW Foundry Service Sales Agreement for InP HBT wafer fabrication is similar with the one we have. The major difference is the wafer of AT bought from TRW is restricted to use for a specified project only, and we don't have such restriction.
  6. Regarding the sub-harmonic mixer packaging issue, Mingtang will take care this issue to get a quotation from J & E, and in the mean time he, Eugene and West continue working with the Chungshang Institute on quotation as well.

Lag Correlator Hybrid
  1. Jeff says the substrates for the correlators will be shipped to him by this Friday, and then he will assemble and test them in a week or so. And he thinks they should be on time to get it done before the conference in Taipei, but they are two weeks delay on the delivery of those substrates.
  2. Huei received the layout design of Silicon Germanium from Paul Robert and send to CIC as well. However, due to the budget problem, CIC decided to postpone processing program, starting in Sep.28, and finishing in Feb. 2002.Huei also suggests put more ground at least on the front side, Huei's student will follow up and contact Paul Robert accordingly. In the mean time, CIC will review our design in next week; Huei's student will take care of this.
  3. Ray brings two CMOS output processing chips with him. Paul will send them to Warwick by courier today.
  4. Warwick has send off a suggested block diagram for the AMiBA prototype correlator to everyone to look at, If we can agree on the basic structure then he suggest that component procurement should proceed ASAP. People should look at it and try to comment and discuss in next week.

Receiver
  1. Mal has sent off ¡§a report on the wide -band circular polarizer made with quarter-wave & half-wave plates¡¨ prepared by Paul Lilie.
  2. Mingtang says that he did some modification on the dimension of wave-guide to improve the feed horn match, and the Christophe's report on beam pattern is closer to what we are making right now. And there will be no impact on the feed horn we ordered earlier.
  3. We has placed an order of OMT to the Chungshang Institute in this week, the lead-time is 90 days.
  4. Mal will talk to the person in charge of the far field range testing and near field range testing in AT, and back to us by next week.

IF/LO
  1. Eugene received three pieces of local oscillator amplifiers of 42 GHz yesterday, and he plans to measure them in the following week.
  2. Eugene has been sending back the incorrect parts controller and laser head one by one to the manufacturer for repairing and adjustment.
  3. Warwick says that our target in the frequency of the mixer based lag correlator is around I KHz, and this is a reference for Eugene to specify the phase shifter of photonic LO system. The Silicon Germanium multiplier is another option we are working on for lag correlator.
  4. Regarding the piezo electric crystal feed back loop for LO phase switching, Eugene did some rough calculation, and he is trying to find out a good arrangement on the piezo electric stator to compensate this phase variation term in the feed back loop.
