  1. Jeff had some phone discussions with John Weber, Todd Gaier, Sandy Wienreb and Neil Erickson, he will summarize all these and email to everybody.Jeff suggests AT think about the possibility to put some best of Sandy¡¦s w-band amplifier layout onto the July AT InP foundry run in TRW. Mal says that this again a complicate issue of export license and it will take time to get through. Jeff and Huei will check with Sandy whether Sandy can provide the Format GDS2 file of mask set. Huei will inform Mal by June 1about whether his student can work out a design layout and send it to AT for July foundry run.
  2. Mal received GaAs mixer chips from Huei; Mal will arrange a testing on them.
  3. Huei got a quote of the packaging and testing on w-band harmonics mixer from Wise Wave technology, Inc. in USA. It is 3K per module, 1200 for large quantity order, and plus 5000 for engineering set up. Bob, Mingtang and Paul will discuss it by off line. In the mean time, we will keep on working with the Chungshang for quotation as well..

Lag Correlator Hybrid
  1. Regarding the Silicon Germanium, Paul Robert is working on that design. Huei asks Warwick to send back the design to his student before May 28.
  2. Regarding the CMOS output processing chips, Ray has done another approach by using the OPS, and the frequency range will be enlarged 5 MHz, and he think the second iteration will be better than the first one, the new chips will be back by end of June. The first iteration chips will be sent to AT by next week, Ray said

Receiver
  1. Mal will send a report of beam pattern analysis on the feed horn and antenna to Bob and Paul.
  2. Mal has sent a report of circular polarization phase shifter to Jeff and Mingtang by fax in last week; he will email a copy to everybody
  3. Regarding the NRAO OMT production,NRAO people is looking for another two possible shops to manufacture OMT in order to speed up the process. M.T. will keep on watching it. The Chungshang Instituteis still working on the pricing.
  4. Mal will get some specification on the far field range testing, and send it to Leo and Bob to look at.

IF/LO
  1. Eugene says that they have got all instrument installed and tested, during the past week. The dual channel power meter and a noise source are work well with the high frequency spectrum analyzer now, except some reading miss-measurement between the output power laser and the power meter
  2. Eugene is trying to figure out the feed back loop in three fiber cables, two cables send signal to each antenna, and use one cable to carry back the signal to the central unit for phase control in order to shorten the cable length from the central unit to each antenna. He will calculate the accuracy of this configuration, and compare with the original optical fiber configuration.
  3. Regarding the optical amplifier, Eugene is keeping on looking for the quotation of the components of commercial market..

Platform/Mount/Dishes
  1. We just got a report of design /feasibility study of the hexapod mount from Vertex, Bob, Jeff Kingsley and Philippe will go over it. A phone meeting on May 21with Vertex has been set up.
  2. Warwick says that Mike is collecting more information of the conventional mount from the Sydney Engineering Co.
