1.
Follow up the discussion on the HPF simulation in last meeting, Leo
changed the IF frequency to 1~ 20GHz and re-do simulation, he found the
internal noise power contributed from image frequency is 42 dB below ¡V55.7dBm
when using the original proposed filter. And the internal noise power is
almost not changed by the image signal. So he think the original specs should
be OK. Leo has made a report on that simulation, he will send it over to Bob,
Mal & everyone to take a look. We will discuss it further by next week. 2.
As for loaning some modules from JPL, Todd has promised to write a
task description report to NASA for approval, Huei will follow up and check
with Todd. 3.
T.H. & Eugene has measured the Specek¡¦s amplifiers twice in
yesterday, the test results almost the same; the major gain is around 3.5dB. Eugene
has informed Specek about the result, and got some advice back. Eugene will
forward the Specek¡¦s response to Huei & Todd, so they will take a look
and probably input some idea. 4.
Regarding the mixer chips testing, Huei asks Warwick check it up with
Russell about the status. 5.
NRAO confirmed that the first 2
units of W-band amplifier should be delivered to us shortly, they just start
to make test. 6.
No news from TRW about the export
license approval for InP HEMT. |

Lag Correlator Hybrid |
||||
1.
There are some communications back and forth between Paul Robert and
Huei's students about the circuit diagram, layout of GaAs HBT. Paul asks Huei
provide the foundry design data for his reference, Huei will check it and
back to Paul later on. 2.
Regarding the InP HBT multipliers, Paul says that he will do
packaging testing next week, probably in a week or two he should have the
testing result for one of the multiplier in the packaging. 3.
Regarding the LTC module fabrication for lag correlator using HBT
multipliers, Warwick sorted out all legal problem and non-disclosure
agreement with ACX in Taiwan, and now he got a specified engineer he can talk
to, so he is under way now. 4.
Regarding the 16-element correlator basis on mixer using power
divider circuit, Jeff will find out the latest status, and inform us next
week. He also will talk to us about what his student has done for the
measurement on the MICA broadband mixer basis correlator next week. . . |

Receiver |
||||
1.
As per request, Mal will provide
a temperature sensor board to Mingtang. Paul asks Mal to provide the cost
information as well. The commercial board for 8 channels will cost $1000USD
each. 2.
Regarding the collaboration proposal
on the development of NRAO OMT, Bob says that as he knew the pre-production
run has been done. John Payne will tell us the update status as well as
pricing and time schedule during his visit by next week. 3.
Regarding the vacuum window material, Mal agreed to send a sample to
Mingtang, Jeff will resent a sample to Mingtang as well. 4.
Mal will look at the summary on
receiver design, which prepared by Mingtang; he will get back to Mingtang if
any thing is needed to clarify. 5.
West
Ho is working with Mingtang on the receiver layout in detail, and we are
aiming to turn out the two prototypes by July. |

Platform/Mount/Dishes |
|
|
||
1.
We got a quotation for the prototype dishes from Composite Mirror,
Inc.; Bob will discuss it with Fred Philippe and Paul Monday morning. 2.
We also got a proposal from Vertex GmbH about the Design /
feasibility study for hexapod mount, a cost comparison vs. conventional mount
will be included in this study. Fred has approved it; Vertex will submit a
report in March. 3.
Jeff Kingsley has generated some drawings for dishes; Bob will bring
the file with him to Taipei. |

Work plan |
||||
All agreed to renew the work plan for year 2001 and
submit it ASAP, this will be the base of project plan year 2001 for Ministry
of Education. Warwick will help Paul figure out the budget we need for
correlator production in this year.
|
||||
Annual report |
||||
All agreed to submit the Annual report to Jean ASAP. Warwick has submitted an interim report on the prototype lag correlator; Michael has also submitted a report on project system integration. |
